Ohio Alert: CASH Act Introduced
For those living in Ohio, we want to bring your attention to a bill introduced by Representative David Thomas (R-Jefferson).
The CASH (Currency Access to Spend Here) Act, H.B. 554, is designed to ensure that Ohioans retain the right to use cash at both private businesses and government entities. The bill responds to constituent concerns about offices and businesses refusing to accept cash payments.
H.B. 554 would:
• Require any government entity, for transactions of $500 or less, to accept cash when offered as payment and prohibit charging higher prices to those paying in cash.
• Require retailers to accept cash for transactions of $500 or less and to provide at least one point-of-sale station that accepts cash.
You can read more about the bill here:

If you live in Ohio, please consider calling your representatives to express support for this bill.
