We don't usually send out two emails in one week, but the time is short to act on this.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is pushing to enforce REAL ID by May 7, 2025. However, there is a limited window of opportunity to stop this overreach. Under the Congressional Review Act (CRA), Congress has the power to withdraw any recent federal rule within the first 60 legislative days of a new administration. We believe the deadline for this action is March 15, 2025.
The REAL ID program is not only unnecessary, given that Americans can already use a passport for federal facility access and air travel, but it also poses a significant threat to our liberties. With full implementation, the REAL ID could evolve into a vaccine passport, track travel and transactions, and potentially lead to a China-like social credit system linked to a global identification system.
On January 14, 2025, the TSA issued a rule mandating two years of “progressive enforcement” with “progressive consequences,” starting on May 7, 2025. It is imperative that we act swiftly to prevent this unconstitutional national ID system from taking hold.
