Last month was Solari’s inaugural monthly online briefing for legislators and other state officials where we discussed the push for state legislatures to create Bitcoin Strategic Reserves.
This month’s briefing will be on Thursday, February 13 from 12:00-2:00 pm ET (note: this is two hours earlier than our usual time). Professor Richard Werner is our guest this month and will be discussing sovereign state banks. Catherine and Professor Werner will follow up on their recent conversation and go in depth on why creating a sovereign state bank would beneficial to a state. They will also answer questions about some of the nuts and bolts involved in establishing such a bank. Currently, the only sovereign state bank in the U.S. is the century-old Bank of North Dakota, which offers a superlative model for other states.
The importance of state banks could not be more important- the latest reports from Washington is that there has been a complete breakdown of all internal financial controls in the US government, making it even more essential that the states protect government and individual sovereignty. Catherine will be covering these developments on this week's Money and Markets at the Solari Report.
For now, these briefings are reserved for legislators and state officials and the citizens working with them. A few weeks ago we received the sad news that Frank Niceley’s daughter Rachel had unexpectedly passed away. Frank has been both our hero the year and hero of the week. The family is asking for donations to be made to the Tennessee Valley Hunt Club in her honor. Catherine has donated.
