Thank you to everyone who responded to our request for recommendations of freedom-minded state legislators. We appreciate the names and introductions you have sent our way. Identifying legislators who understand the importance of protecting financial transaction freedom and connecting them with citizens willing to support their efforts is an important part of our work as we prepare for the 2027 legislative sessions.
As a reminder, our next Solari briefing is on September 10 with a discussion of our updated programmable money model legislation, now called the CLEAR Act (Consumer Ledger and Electronic Assets Rights Act). We will be joined by Tennessee Rep. Bud Hulsey, who was our House sponsor in the Tennessee Legislature last session for our programmable money legislation. For most state legislatures, January will bring the beginning of a new legislative session. That makes the months ahead an excellent time to prepare. One of the most important things you can do right now is simply get to know the people who represent you in your state legislature.

As the late Tennessee State Senator Frank Niceley advised in our guide, "Get to know them (your legislators) before you need them and explain the issues to them little by little…. You can’t teach it to them all in one sentence… It’s an ongoing process.” This quieter period before legislative sessions begin is often one of the best opportunities to do exactly that.
